California's Biggest Garden Tour Returns May 7, 2017

flowers300x203With 41 gardens on display, California's biggest self-guided garden tour, "Bringing Back the Natives," will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017. Zone 7 continues to sponsor this tour year after year because it gives customers in the valley ideas on ways to use California native plants to make their gardens water efficient, drought tolerant, and more beautiful.

To tour the gardens, you must register in advance. Once registered, you have the option of printing the PDF'd guide and ticket(s) or choosing to receive a printed guide by mail. The printed guide includes tickets to the gardens of this self-guided tour in both Alameda and Contra Costa counties. There are eight gardens in the Tri-Valley area to view. Register today at Bring Back the Natives.

Get more information about native plant events, read informative articles, stay up to date on Bringing Back the Natives Garden Tour workshops and plant sales, and more at Bringing Back the Natives.

A video from the Save Our Water program uses contemporary music and graphics to educate Californians on water use and and move them to conserve. The video, “Saving California’s Water,” presents facts and statistics on water consumption in a modern and fast-paced format. For example, California has the 15th highest per-capita water consumption in the nation, yet close to 90% of residents say they are very or somewhat willing to conserve water at home.
